I have worked with Garry Benford for over 15 years. When I started with Garry I really hadn't been exercising except some stretches and walking. I was skeptical of working out because I did not want to be in a gym of powerlifters and models. I had just retired and wanted to try to get stronger and feel better.
The first thing that made me realize I was in the right place was that Garry was good at tailoring the workouts to the needs of the group. When surgeries would happen he would work with the individual to make sure they could still exercise through healing. I have been at two different gyms with Garry- as well as his home gym during covid. He is very good at using equipment that is available- machines, free weights, balls or bands. Many of the exercises were easily transferred to equipment at home. There are many of the group from the early days that still gather with him twice a week.
Today all those in my group are over 70 and a couple in their 80's. Other groups are middle aged and some are younger athletes. No matter one's need, Garry has the background to be effective. The sessions are something that I look forward to now. Some have gone on to individual sessions instead of group and contine to achieve their goals. I believe I have found the right mix between a trainer, motivator and friend in Garry.

I met Garry some 15 years ago. Having recently retired from a 40 year career in dentistry, a massage therapist friend referred me to Garry to help deal with chronic low back pain. Exercise had always been a high priority in my life yet nothing helped my discomfort! He worked with me over the next few years to totally change my routine and incorporated exercises designed to strengthen my lower back muscles.
My pain was alleviated. He introduced me to the world of competitive powerlifting. I learned that he was a multi world record holder that was continuing to compete and set more records! I started to compete with success. This changed my life forever and for this I will always be grateful!
